Introducing the Pegasus, our first truly lightweight saddle. Designed in conjunction with Kate and Rachel Atkinson the first saddle was made for Kate to use at the National Championships as young riders don’t need to carry weights .
So after testing it on training rides for a couple of weeks she rode in it for CEI Young Rider 120 Kilometre race at Keysoe coming in first and being crowned Young Rider Champion 2016 .
Kate told us after the ride when we enquired about whether it needed any tweaks.
” It rode amazingly, wouldn’t change one bit, its an awesome saddle !” Needless to say we considered it tested !
Pegasus is made in sumptuous Italian calf and well padded for comfort over long distance . The large external knee Roll supports well for a standing canter and with a medium deep, open seat is also supportive but does not lock the rider into place .
The monoflap design gives a great close contact feel and at weighing in just under 4 kilos (16.5/17 seat) and slightly heavier for the larger sizes with panels and discs attached it really does give you a close contact, comfortable seat with minimum weight, combined with ReactorPanels ultimate weight distribution system it is an excellent option for riders who do not need to carry weights.
